School has started back and for many that means hectic schedules, abundant sickness, and exhausted kids and parents. If you have been reading then you know that I am obsessed with essential oils. We have found them to be more than beneficial for our health and wellbeing. I wanted to take a little bit of time to share with you how I use oils everyday and how they could benefit you! Here are a few of my favorite oils that come in the Young Living Everyday Oils Collection as part of the Premium Starter Kit.

back to school with essential oils ---> beets + okra

1. Purification —> Can we say, ‘Adios, stinky stuff’. Those of you with teenage athletes or young adults who have raging hormones and smelly rooms, this stuff is for you! Diffuse a few drops into the air to remove odors. If I were a 7th grade teacher I would have this blasting in my classroom. It’s also great to take the itch out of insect bites. We have a roll-on bottle with grape seed oil and a few drops of purification. We apply it at the first site of a bite and it takes the itch right away. {Can we say perfect for Friday night FOOTBALL!} Check out this DIY laundry detergent using Purification!

2. Thieves –> Thieves is the most popular oil when we think of going back to school. It is known to help boost the immune system and help combat those icky icky illnesses. We have a spray bottle filled with grape seed oil and a few drops of thieves and we spray it on the bottom of our feet when we start to feel the least bit ‘off’. It’s also great to diffuse in the air to help keep those yuckos away. We love thieves and use it a ton. Check out this DIY hand sanitizer using thieves!

3. Lavender —> Lavender is by far the oil I use most. It gives me a sense of relief and calmness. It is a great oil to have on hand, well, for most anything! I use lavender to help calm myself and also apply it on cuts and scrapes from those playground incidents. Lavender can promote the healing process and also calm someone recovering from a booboo. It’s also a great way to help relieve yourself of acne.

4. Peppermint —> Are you having tummy troubles or {eek} gas and bloating? I have found peppermint to be extremely helpful in these situations. I mix a couple of drops into a carrier oil and rub it on my abdomen and can feel the effect almost immediately. It’s a really great oil to have on hand for any tummy issue. {Side note: DiGize blend is my all time favorite for all things tummy!}

5. Peace + Calming —> Are you anxious about starting a new school or taking an upcoming test? Peace + Calming can be a life saver for those dealing with anxiety. I know first hand. I use Peace + Calming anytime I am going into an unknown situation or just need some evening R&R. I apply one drop to my wrists and breathe deeply OR diffuse it in the evening to help me unwind. We also diffuse Peace + Calming to help fussy pets, babies, or other {uh hum} fussy family members.

6. Lemon —> Anyone getting the afternoon sluggish feeling or have a hard time concentrating. Diffusing lemon into the air can really brighten the mood and help with concentrating and feeling more energetic. I put one drop of lemon in my morning water and it really rejuvenates me.

7. PanAway —> All of you athletes that are hitting it hard after laying by the pool and softening up all summer are probably feeling the burn! PanAway is great mixed with a carrier oil {such as coconut oil} and rubbed into tired and sore muscles. It really helps the muscles relax and help you feel better quick! We use this a lot in our house to combat tension in our backs and necks from extended computer use.
